The problem of evil, part 2: The problem with the divine testing theory

One attempted solution to the problem of evil is the idea that it is a test from God or that He is trying to help build our souls or improve us or that “Everything happens for a reason”.

Some problems with this are as follows:

• The one of why He would do that by inflicting horrible suffering on us, especially by means of stuff that He Himself condemns.

• The one of why He, being omniscient and omnipotent, would have to do it to begin with.

• The one of whether it really is helpful at all.

• The one of why He doesn’t allow us to understand why it happens.

So, in short, I think it is obvious that this argument is of no help.
